Essex- based CCTV integrators Marks Tey Radio have recently completed the installation as part of a multi-phase project to provide EverFocus CCTV Systems throughout Colchester Zoo. The programme of installations throughout various locations in the zoo complex has included the Admin/Office areas, Elephant house, African Hunting Dogs enclosure and Orangutan enclosure with systems designed to provide security and remote monitoring of the animals throughout the day and night. Keith Fitch of Marks Tey Radio explains, "we chose the EverFocus equipment, sourced from CIE-Group, because of its compact size and ease of set up and use; the DVR and cameras provide an ideal solution for the zoo's requirements for both public safety during the day and monitoring of the animlas during the night, as well as allowing system expansion in the future". See the EverFocus 4 channel DVR system in action from Channel 5’s ‘Zoo Days’ below.
